Dear Students, Parents and Visitors:

Since the inception of Barbara Goleman High School, providing our students with a quality education has been our primary goal.  Named after a National Teacher of the Year, our school has maintained steadfast in the pursuit of academic excellence.  The faculty and staff of Goleman consist of an assembly of highly educated, motivated, and dedicated individuals who genuinely care about meeting the academic and social needs of children.

Our teachers adhere to a child-centered philosophy that makes it possible to provide our students with a non-threatening learning environment. Teachers work diligently to establish a classroom forum that promotes active participation by all learners, encourage meaningful dialogue between students, and implement sound pedagogical principles to ensure that the students’ cognitive needs are met.  Additionally, our staff is committed to working with parents to ensure that students understand the importance of practicing ethical behavior and the value of becoming productive members of society.

Research in the area of education is consistent in the finding that there is a positive correlation between student achievement and parental involvement.  To that end, let me encourage you to participate in school-sponsored events, maintain contact with your child’s teachers, and contact me to discuss issues germane to your child’s educational experience.

I cannot overstate the pride that I feel as the principal of this outstanding school.  It is an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of being the instructional leader of your children.
